Credit Cards

In areas that receive a great deal of tourist traffic, or which have been designated as "visitor areas" by the government, you will have no problems using credit cards. Stick with familiar faces such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners. Outside these areas your best bet is to carry cash as the facilities for processing credit cards may not be available - this is especially true for regional and rural destinations
Medical Services
Medical services in China can be a bit dodgy at the best of times. In major centres such as Beijing and Shanghai there are medical clinics specifically for tourists and foreigners. If in doubt check with reception staff at your hotel as there are often specialist foreign doctors they can contact for you. The most important thing is to ensure that you have high quality, comprehensive travel insurance so that you can be evacuated if you are seriously ill. If you have a minor ailment, such as a headache or a touch of insomnia, you could do worse than seek out a good Chinese herbalist. Always carry copy of your prescriptions if you take regular medication, and carry extra supplies if it's possible.
